  TANZANIA ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, where you will be met and transferred to your lodge, situated on a coffee farm with all round beautiful views of Mount Meru.
Overnight in Arusha.

Day 2-3: Drive south-west to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. This is home to a wide variety of animals, especially elephant. Your camp is ideally located to see large concentrations of elephants, cats and other animals around the stunning Silale swamps and in the trademark Baobab country of Tarangire NP. Game drives each day as well as the chance to do game-walks.
Overnight at a luxury tented camp.

Day 4: Drive to the magical Ngorongoro Crater - a large volcanic caldera, with an area of 259 square kilometers, and contains a huge variety of game and birds and is often referred to as a microcosm of Africa with its dramatic weather changes and varied terrains consisting of forest, grasslands and both freshwater and soda lakes.
Overnight at a luxury lodge located on the outskirts of Karatu, on the lower slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5 : Descend steadily down the steep 610 meter sides of the crater from our lodge, perched on the crater rim. Game viewing in the crater is almost guaranteed to turn up four of the Big Five, as well as zebra, gazelle, warthog and a rich variety of birds, all viewed against the backdrop of the thickly forested crater walls.
Overnight at a luxury lodge.

Days 6-8 : We drive to Olduvai Gorge where Mary Leakey made her groundbreaking discovery of a hominid (human-like) skull dating back 1.8 million years. Since then other hominid species, possibly our early ancestors, have been found in the area dating as far back as 3.7 million years. The whole area is often referred to as the ‘cradle of mankind' and we'll spend a few fascinating hours here getting an understanding of this relevance of these discovery.
You'll also spend time in a genuine Maasai village where we'll be able to interact with the tribes people, talk to the kids and generally experience some of the nuances of the nomadic Maasai way of life.
Our base is in the central Serengeti. 14 763 square kilometers in extent, it reaches up to the Kenyan border and is amongst the finest in Africa. Here are 35 species of plains dwelling animals, including wildebeest and zebra, which feature in the spectacular Serengeti migration.
There is also an extensive selection of birdlife. Being there at the start of the wildebeest migration is a never to be forgotten experience. Of course, this attracts all the predators and lion and cheetah sightings at this time can be outstanding.
We'll take full day's game drives on the Serengeti plains.
Overnight in a luxury private mobile Tented Camp.

Days 9-10 : Drive in a northerly direction to the Soit Sambu concession located in the Loliondo area, bordering the Serengeti to the east. Concentrations of wildlife in the concession areas can be very high and the advantages of these areas include privacy and additional adventures such as walking safaris, night drives and nights of private light-weight camping. Game drives can be done both inside and outside the Serengeti National Park.
Overnight in a luxury tented camp.

Day 11: After breakfast, drive to the Kleins Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Arusha and your homeward flight.

The order of this itinerary may vary due to annual rains and the migration.
