11 DAY PARK SAFARI IN 4 COUNTRIES

This 11 day Peace Park safari takes us to the best lodges in each of the countries making up the Kavango Transfrontier Conservation Area and - the game-viewing is superb.

Although you will be experienced the ecology and wildlife of four different countries, the distances travelled are not great and transfer times are minimal.

Day 1 : Arrive in Livingstone, Zambia. Road transfer to a luxury lodge on the Zambezi.
If you arrive on time, afternoon boat cruise on the Zambezi. Spot hippos and elephants.
There are six secluded chalets linked by a foot bridge to a haute cuisine restaurant, all on two untouched islands in the mighty Zambezi River.

Day 2: Optional white water rafting, visit the Victoria Falls, river cruises, canoe trips on the Zambezi. Village and school walk.

Days 3-5: Drive to Kasane and cross the border in to Botswana. After your arrival in Kasane you will be transferred by charter flight to a luxury Bush Camp in the Chobe Enclave where you will spend three nights.
The area is best known for its large populations of Elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers especially during the dry season. Lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, and a number of the plains game can be enjoyed at Linyanti. The rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile can be found in the surrounding marshes.
The area's relative remoteness area offers spectacular birding all year round and is best known for its enormous herds of elephants which move down to the Linyanti River at the start of the winter months (June to October) and only move back inland once the main rains arrive.
Here you will go on game drives, take game walks, do night drives with a spot light to experience the nocturnal creatures of this wild place. You will also do many bush walks and maybe spend time in the game-viewing hides.

Days 6-7: Fly back to Kasane and cross into Namibia for a 45 minute boat ride up the Zambezi to luxury Lodge.
The Lodge offers us the opportunity to experience closely a wild and untouched island of Africa. Situated in north eastern Namibia, your island is in the remote Kwando River - a permanent water source which nourishes delicate ecosystems and sustains varied game and birdlife.
Here you will do game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles in the Bwabwata National Park. Game sightings could include vast herds of roaming elephant and buffalo, lion, hippo, leopard, sable, roan, lechwe and puku.
Night drives offer an even closer insight into the intrigue of the African bush..
Around the Lodge excellent birding exists for the Narina Trogon and the rare Racket-tailed Roller, which can be searched for amongst the tall teak woodlands. The Coppery Sunbird is another summer visitor to the area and is often spied feeding on the large purple flowers of the teak trees of the dunes.
You will also do some sedate cruises in the slow, meandering Kwando River - game viewing and bird watching within the Bwabwata National Park and your walks will offer a closer insight into the ecology of this magnificent area.

Days 8-10: Enter Zimbabwe and drive to Hwange National Park and Somalisa Camp where you will spend three nights.
The luxury safari camp is set in the heart of Hwange National Park, known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. Somalisa is an authentic bush camp, a blend of old African charm and elegance together with an exclusive safari experience. Its stunning location tucked away on an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain gives it breath taking views of the savannah plains of the famous Kennedy Vlei line.
Here you will experience the heightened romance of the African Bush in one of the most natural environments in Africa. This is the way Africa was meant to be explored.
Here you will again do game walks, game drives and spot lighting as well as game viewing from hides. Walking and game drives will allow us the opportunity to observe elephant, kudu and sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, giraffe, white rhino, lion, leopard, hyena, and many other wildlife species.

Day 11: After your last morning activity you will road transfer to Victoria Falls for your onward travel arrangements.
